Faith Statement
- God Is One
In Marks;12:29,30. Here we see that God is one,” Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.“
In Colossians; 1:19, ” For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell.”
In Ephesians;4:4,5,6, it is written, ” There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;
One Lord, one faith, one baptism;
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
In Philippians;2:6,” Who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, But made himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservent, and coming in the likeness of men.
And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.“
In John;10:30, Jesus Proclaims,” I and My Father are one. “
So,
- We believe in the one God Almighty.
2. Son of God
In Romans; 1:2,3,4,it is written, ” Which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, Concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, And declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.“From these verses we can say that Jesus has proved unto the world that He is the Son of God Almighty.
So,
- We believe in the Son of God.
3. Holy Spirit
In John;14:16,17, Jesus said, ” And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever- “The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither see Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”” These verses reveal to us that the Holy Spirit is Jesus Christ Himself.
So,
- We believe in the Holy Spirit.
Holy Trinity
In Genesis;1:1,2 and 3, we raed, ” In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, let there be light : and there was light.“From the verse 3 to onward in Genesis chapter one we see that God speaks, its mean whatever God said is the word of God.
In John;1:1,2,3,4, Trinity is seen vividly, ” In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, And the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him, nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of the men.“
In John;12:44,45, ” Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.”“
In John;14:8,9,10,11, ” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say,’ Show us the Father’?
“Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority, but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.
“Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.” “
In Acts;2:36, ” Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. “
All these verses clears that Jesus Is Lord, Jesus Is God, Jesus Is Holy Spirit and Jesus Is the Word of God AND The Word of God is Holy Spirit and Holy Spirit is God AND God shows Himself unto the world in Jesus Christ.
So,
- We believe in the theology of the Holy Trinity.
Birth of Jesus Christ
In Mathew; 1:22,” So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold the virgin shall be with child and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” Which is translated, “God with us.”“
Crucifixion
In Mathew;27:35,” Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: ” They divided My garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.”“
Death
In Luke;23:46 it is written,” And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My Spirit.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last. “
In Mark;15:44,45,46, it is written, ” Pilate marvelled that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him if He had been dead for some time.
So when he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
Then he bought fine linen, took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen. And he laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.“
Resurrection
In Mark;16:9, ” Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons.“
Ascendancy to Heaven
In Luke;24:50,51.” And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.”
So,
- We believe in the birth of Jesus from a virgin, His Crucifixion, His death, His Resurrection from the dead, and His Ascension to Heaven.
New Life
In John;3:3,5 it is written,” Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” “Jesus answered, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. ” John;3-3,5.
In Acts;2:38,39,it is written, ” The Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
“For the promise is to you and your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call. ”
So,
- We believe in the teaching of the new life of being born again of water and the Holy Spirit.
Baptism of Water
In Romans; 6:3,4,5,6; it is written,” Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the Glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in the newness of life.
For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.“
In 1 Peter;3:21, the core value of water baptism becomes more clear, ” There is also an antitype which now saves us us-baptism ( not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God ), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. “
In Galatians;3:27 it is said,” For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”
So,
- We believe in the Baptism of water.
Baptism of the Holy Spirit
In Mathew; 3:11 we read,” I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry, He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.“
In Mark; 1:8 we read,” I indeed baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.“
In Luke; 3:16, it is written,” John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” “
And in John; 1:26,27, we read, ” John answered them, saying “I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know.”It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, Whose Sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.”“
And in John; 1:31,32,33, it becomes crystal clear that the baptism of repentance is that of the Holy Spirit, here it is written; “I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water. And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.”I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remain on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ ““
In Ephesians;4:4,5,6, it becomes more clear that” There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism; One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.“
In Titus;3:4,5,6 it is written that,” Not by the work of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.“
So,
- We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit is the water of life
In John;7:38,39, “He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.“
So,
- We believe the Holy Spirit is the living water.
Fulfilment of the promise of the Holy Spirit.
In John;14:16,17, Jesus said, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever- “The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither see Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”“
From here the part of these verses, “I will come to you” means that Jesus will come to us in the Holy Spirit. We also see the fulfillment of this promise in the Great Commission in Mathew;28:20.
In Mathew;28:20(b), ” and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
In Acts;2:33, “ Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.“
Now we are not orphans because our Lord Jesus Christ is among us, dwells in us, and He has come to us in the form of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, today we need to accept Jesus as our Saviour then the Holy Spirit will come into our hearts and will dwell in us. Because it is written
In Revelation;3:20, ” Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me.“
So,
- We believe in the accomplishment of the Promise of pouring of Holy Spirit from heaven.
Different kinds of tongues are one of the Spiritual gifts.
In 1 Corinthians;12:10,11,” To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kind of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.“Therefore, the tongues are given by God on His own will.
So,
- We believe in the presence of tongues today.
In tongues, a man speaks to God.
In 1 Corinthians;12:2,” For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit, he speaks mysteries.“
So,
- We believe that in tongues one can speak with God.
In tongues, one can edify oneself but not the Church
In 1 Corinthians;14:3, ” But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.“
In 1 Corinthians;14:4, ” He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.“
In 1 Corinthians;14:12, ” Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church, that you seek to excel.“
So,
- We believe that tongues are not the source of edification of the Church.
Seven Rules set by God to speak in tongues
In 1 Corinthians;14:37, ” If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.”
- 1. In 1 Corinthians;14:13, ” Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret.”
- 2. In 1 Corinthians;14:27, ” If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret.“
- 3. In 1 Corinthians;14:28, ” But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God.“
- 4. In 1 Corinthians;14:29, ” Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.“
- 5. In 1 Corinthians;14:30, ” But if anything is revealed to another who sits by, let the first keep silent.“
- 6. In 1 Corinthians;14:31, ” For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and and all may be encouraged.“
- 7. In 1 Corinthians;14:32, ” And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.“
It means that anyone can control oneself to open or not open his mouth when one has received a tongue or revelation. Therefore, in the church according to these rules ( Commandments of the Lord ), we should speak in tongues or reveal any revelation. Because,
In 1-Corinthians;14:33, it is written, ” For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of saints.“
So,
- We believe these Commandments must be followed in Churches.
Old Covenant
In Genesis;17:14; “And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.“
In 2 Corinthians;3:7,8, ” But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, How will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? “
So,
- We believe in this Old Covenant between God and man.
Fulfillment of Old Covenant
In Luke;2:21 it is written,” And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the Child, His name was called JESUS, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.“
So,
- We believe; Jesus’ birth was under the Law, so He fulfilled the old covenant Himself to fulfill the Law.
New Covenant
In 2 Corinthians;3:8,9, ” How will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious?
For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.” Therefore, it can be said new covenant is the covenant of Spirit and the covenant of righteousness. In this regard, Jesus Said:
In Mathew;3:15, ” But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.“ From this verse it becomes very clear that we have to fulfill the ministry of righteousness i.e New Covenant. So, Jesus Himself fulfilled this new covenant and has given us a model to fulfill it .
In Galatians;2:21, ” I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law then Christ died in vain.“ This is the grace of God that we can attain the righteousness through Jesus Christ by obeying the new covenant.
In 2 Corinthians;3:6,” Who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. “
In Romans;2:29, it is written,” But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.“
In Galatians;6:15,16, ” For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.
And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God. “
In 1 Corinthians;7:19; ” Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the Commandments of God is what matters.“
So,
- We believe in the new covenant that God has set in Jesus Christ with us.
How this New Covenant Is Being Fulfilled by Us.
In Colossians;2:11,12, ” In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by the circumcision of Christ, Buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.“
In these verses it becomes very clear that the Baptism of water is the way to be circumcised oneself to fulfill the new covenant. It is the antitype of the old covenant of God made with Abraham.
So,
- We believe that the new covenant is fulfilled by the Baptism of Water.
Fruits or gifts of New Covenant
In Galatians;5:22,23, ” But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law”
In Galatians;6:15, ” For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. ” We attain a New Life by being born again.
In Galatians;5:6 , ” For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.” Our faith becomes more strengthened , and our faith works through God as we know that “God Is Love”, and in new covenant we crucify ourselves with Jesus Christ.
In Galatians; 5:24, it is written, ” And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passion and desires.”
In Galatians; 6:17, ” From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of Lord Jesus. “ It means that true believers who enter the New Covenant have Jesus’ marks on their body and have crucified their flesh with all desires and passion.
In 2 Corinthians;3:3,” Clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. “ By entering in a new covenant we become the epistle of Jesus Christ.
In Galatians; 2:20, ” I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me.” So in Christ, we live by faith in the Son of God.
Righteousness
In Romans;4:13,” For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.” So through righteousness of faith, Abraham got the promise of God.
In Romans;4:16,” Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham who is the father of us all.” If we have faith, then like Abraham; we will also get the same promise.
In Romans;4:21,22, ” And being fully convinced that what He had promised He was able to perform.
And therefore, “it was accounted to him for righteousness.“ ” Therefore, fully convinced faith is considered as our righteousness.
In Romans;4:23,24, ” Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him,
But also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.” The promise of God with Abraham is also with us who believe in God who raised up our Lord Jesus Christ.
In Romans;3:23,24, ” For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.“ As we know we are the seed of Adem, so when he committed a sin we were also within him at that time, therefore, we all are sinners.
In 2-Corinthians;5:20,21,it is written, ” Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.“
Now in Jesus Christ by His grace we attain the righteousness so then we are being called the righteousness of God.
So,
- We believe, our Righteousness is attained by the grace of Jesus Christ, so we are God’s Righteousness in Jesus.
Repentance
In Mathew;4:17, ” From that time Jesus began to preach and to say,”Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” “
In Mark;1:14,15, ” Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.
And saying,”The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” “
In Romans;3:23,24, ” For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” As we know we are the seed of Adem, so when he committed a sin we were also within him at that time, therefore, we all are sinners.
In Luke;15:7, “ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. ” Here we see the importance of repentance; as we all are sinners, so we are in intense need of repentance, our own just doings don’t have value that is why Jesus said if we are just persons then we should repent on our sinful nature attained through the sin of Adem.
In Luke;13:3,5, ” I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
“I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” “ We see, Jesus affirmly says that without repentance salvation is impossible. The same teaching is seen in;
In Romans;10:10, ” For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.“
So,
- We believe that without repentance and confession, salvation is impossible.
Our Salvation
In Acts;4:12, ” Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.“
In Acts;16:31,” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.“
In Romans;10:9,10, ” That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. “
So,
- We believe that salvation is attained through faith in Jesus Christ.
Great Commission
In Mathew;28:18,19,20, ” And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit,
“Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.””
So,
- We believe, in obeying the great commission.
Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil
In Eden
In Genesis;2:9 it is written,” And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.” We come to know from this verse that God planted two types of trees amid the garden; between them, only one tree was for their food, and that tree was the Tree of Life which gave them eternal life before their fall into sin.
So,
- We believe in the presence of the Tree Of Life and the Tree Of knowledge of good and evil in Eden.
First Commandment for man
In Genesis;2:16,17, The Law is written as, ” And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.“
So,
- We believe that it is the first commandment of God for man.
Disobedience of man
In Genesis;3:6 it is written,” And when the women saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.“
So,
- We believe that it is the first disobedience of man.
Exodus of Adam and Eve
In Genesis;3:22,23, it is written,” And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from where he was taken.
So He drove out the man, and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cher’u-bims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.“ We see that God showered His Love and Grace on Adam and Eve by driving them out of the garden so they may not eat fruit from the Tree of Life as sinners, instead, they may attain a New Life by believing in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
So,
- We believe the turning out of Adam and Eve from Eden was for our sake.
Now once again the Tree of Life is among us on earth
In John; 6:47,48,53,54 and 58, it is written as,” Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life.
Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.
Whoever eats My flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
“This is the bread which came down from heaven – not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.” “
So,
- We believe that Jesus is the Bread of Life and the Tree Of Life among us.
Tree of Life in Heaven
In Revelation;22:1,2,14, we read,” And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.“
So,
- We believe in the Tree Of Life in heaven.
Second Advent Of Jesus
In Acts; 1:8,9,10,11, it is written,” “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, Who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up unto heaven? This same Jesus, who has taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.””
So,
- We believe in the Second Advent of Jesus Christ.
End of the world
In 1 Corinthians; 15:22,23,24. ” For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. “
So,
- We believe in the day of the End of this World.
Day of Judgement
Many references from the Bible depict the day of judgment.
In revelation; chapter; 20,21.
In 1 Corinthians; 15.
So,
- We believe in the day of Judgement.
